Wide monitors
Additional space grows outside the content. The curves remain close to the text instead of moving toward the viewport edges.
PROJECT · FRONTEND & DESIGN
A sweeping curve can look great on a desktop screen yet become distorted or disconnected from the content when the viewport gets smaller.
I built Curve Studio to solve that problem: a free browser-based S-curve editor with a live preview and separate HTML and CSS export.
Instead of treating the background shape as a fixed screenshot, the transition is designed to respond to the layout.
THE IDEA
I wanted the white content area to blend smoothly into a colored hero, framed by two elegant S-curves instead of ordinary rounded corners.
Early versions worked at only one screen size. On narrow screens they became compressed; on ultrawide displays they drifted away from the content.
The solution: anchor the curves to the content container, not the overall viewport.
PROBLEM → SOLUTION → RESULT
Fixed pixel heights can distort transitions. Curve Studio anchors smooth SVG shapes to the content and produces code ready to integrate.
Viewport-dependent curves distort during resizing or drift away from the main content.
Two SVG curves maintain a fixed offset from the centered content container.
Fine-tune dimensions live, then export HTML and CSS separately for your own project.
HOW IT WORKS
Two mirrored SVG paths with cubic Bézier curves create the transition. They follow the content track while extra space is filled on the outside instead of stretching the curves.
Additional space grows outside the content. The curves remain close to the text instead of moving toward the viewport edges.
The shape stays consistent without horizontal stretching or changing the Bézier geometry.
Curves can extend beyond the visible edges while the actual content layout wraps independently.
A configurable gap keeps curves tied to the content track, even on ultrawide displays.
Each curve keeps its own width, height and rounding instead of being distorted by browser width.
When space gets tight, outer curve edges are clipped rather than compressed.
HTML and CSS are generated from your settings. The exported layout does not need JavaScript.
USE CASES
Curve Studio transitions can visually connect hero sections and page content on landing pages, project pages, SaaS products and custom sites.
Introduce your offer with a clear hero and a smooth transition into the main content.
Connect strong visuals and editorial content in one coherent layout.
Build calm, contemporary transitions around product and feature sections.
Reuse the exported code in custom templates or CMS components.
TRY IT YOURSELF
Use the editor directly in your browser without signing up, installing software or loading external UI libraries.
Define overall width, hero height, content width and the vertical content position.
Adjust curve height, width, rounding and spacing with instant feedback.
Open the export panel and copy HTML and CSS separately into your project.
THE LIVE EDITOR
Shape your transitions live, test the responsive preview and copy the HTML and CSS into your project.
WHO IT'S FOR
Curve Studio works for landing pages, product pages and websites with organic transitions, wherever border-radius alone is not enough.
The export is a standalone example. Adapt it to your own design system and test it at your breakpoints.
